Mod "Delta's Dogfight Doubles: Albatross D.Va VS Bristol F.2b" version 11.11.18 for Ravenfield (Build 11)
Two iconic aircraft of the First World War. The Albatross and the Bristol Fighter. Now brought to you in Ravenfield!
I decided about 5 days ago it would be a good idea to get a mod up to commemorate 100 years of the Armistice of 1918 - and i managed to do it (just) in time!
The Bristol F. 2b was originally designed in principle to be a reconnaissance aircraft. However it transpired that, despite it's large size, it was a very manoevrable aircraft, as well as quite fast for it's day. Fitted with a singular forward firing machinegun, with the observer using 1 or 2 guns mounted on a Scarff Ring covering the rear, it was a very potent aircraft, and german aviators were even advised to not attack groups of 3 or more.
The Albatros D. V was a development of the D. III, made famous by "Bloody April" in 1917, where the Royal Flying Corps suffered tremendous losses against such machines. While the D. V was meant to be a successor, it ultimately proved to have little redeeming features over the D. III, which some pilots even preferred!
Depending on the reception of this first installment in the Dogfight Doubles series, i plan on making more aircraft from various time periods and wars across history, with one aircraft in a pack of 2 from each side - so if you like this mod and the idea, please let me know by like and/or comment!
If you see this mod on a website that is not the Steam Workshop, i kindly ask you to refrain from downloading it - it may be riddled with viruses, but also i can't interact with you! If you'd like to say something, please do so on the steam workshop. (I also don't give permission to this to be featured anywhere other than the steam workshop)
Regarding the Falcons, i'm going to try and get a skin out for the end of this year - dependant on when the skins stable build is released. Falcon vehicles and weapons will resume in 2019 - thanks for your patience!
